Work injuries & workers’ comp

Hurt lifting, slipping or repeating the same motion at work? We accept workers’ compensation and can help with neck, back and joint pain from work injuries.

Common work injuries we see

Lifting, twisting, slips and falls, long hours on your feet and doing the same motion over and over can strain the muscles, joints and ligaments of the back, neck, shoulders, hips and knees. Some people feel it right away; others notice it over days or weeks.

We take a careful history of how you were hurt and what you feel now, do a thorough exam, and explain what we find in plain language.

How we help

Specific chiropractic adjustments. A precise, controlled movement applied to a joint that is restricted or not moving well. The goal is to restore healthy joint motion and support communication between your nervous system and your body. More about adjustments.

Passive therapies. Electrical stimulation, our mechanical massage table and cold therapy to ease pain and relax tight muscles.

Active care. Exercises and stretches you can continue at home to build strength and flexibility.

For strengthening and getting back to full duty, Bobby Stewart, M.Ed., of MedFit PT offers clinical exercise and post-rehab programs at our office. Meet Bobby. See personal training & post-rehab exercise.

Workers’ compensation

We accept workers’ compensation. Report your injury to your employer as soon as you can, then call (859) 737-5800 before your first visit with your claim information so we can check your coverage. We don’t take X-rays in our office; if you need them, we’ll refer you out.

Desk work catching up with you instead? See posture & desk work.

Your first visit

Book online anytime or call (859) 737-5800. Walk-ins and same-day appointments are welcome during office hours (Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 8 AM – 6 PM). Bring your insurance card(s); that’s all you need. We accept Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid and Passport (Molina Healthcare), and plans from Anthem, Humana, UnitedHealthcare (UHC), WellCare and Aetna. Not using insurance? Self-pay options are available. See what to expect as a new patient.

When to get urgent medical care

Call 911 or go to the emergency room, rather than booking a chiropractic visit, if you have:

  • A fall from a height, a crush injury or any head injury
  • Numbness, tingling or weakness in your arms or legs
  • New trouble controlling your bladder or bowels
  • Severe pain, a joint that looks out of place, or a bone you think may be broken

Also at our office: Massage therapy with Westley Rowe, LMT (Meet Westley), and Personal training with Bobby Stewart, M.Ed., of MedFit PT (Meet Bobby). Both are booked separately from chiropractic visits.
