Posture, desk work & screen time
Hours at a desk, behind the wheel or looking down at a phone can leave your neck and back stiff and sore. Here is how we help, plus a few simple tips.
Why sitting adds up
Holding one position for a long time, especially with your head forward and shoulders rounded, keeps the same muscles and joints working hard all day. Over time many people notice neck pain, upper back tension, low back stiffness or headaches.
We look at how your neck, upper back and low back move, talk about your work setup and daily routine, and build a plan that fits your day.
How we help
Specific chiropractic adjustments. A precise, controlled movement applied to a joint that is restricted or not moving well. The goal is to restore healthy joint motion and support communication between your nervous system and your body. More about adjustments.
Passive therapies. Electrical stimulation, our mechanical massage table and cold therapy to ease pain and relax tight muscles.
Active care. Exercises and stretches you can continue at home to build strength and flexibility.
Simple desk tips
- Put the top of your screen at about eye level, an arm’s length away.
- Sit back in your chair with your feet flat and your low back supported.
- Keep your keyboard and mouse close so your elbows stay by your sides.
- Stand up, walk or stretch for a minute or two every 30 to 60 minutes.
- Hold your phone up closer to eye level instead of looking down for long stretches.
