Massage therapy in Winchester, KY
Swedish, deep tissue and chair massage with Westley Rowe, LMT, a licensed massage therapist in our Winchester office. Massage is booked online, separately from chiropractic visits.
What massage therapy is
Massage therapy is hands-on work on the muscles and soft tissues of the body by a trained therapist. Depending on the type of massage, the pressure can be light and flowing or firmer and more focused. Westley Rowe, LMT, is a licensed massage therapist who sees massage clients at our office at 1199 W. Lexington Ave in Winchester. Massage may help you relax and ease muscle tension.
Who massage can help
Massage isn’t only for special occasions. It can be a good fit for:
- People with tight, tense muscles in the neck, shoulders or back
- People who sit at a desk or drive for long hours
- People who work on their feet or do physical work
- Active people who want time to unwind after exercise or sport
- Anyone feeling stressed who wants time to relax
- Chiropractic patients who want hands-on muscle work as well
Swedish, deep tissue & chair massage
Westley offers three types of massage. Prices are listed below.
Swedish massage
A full-body massage with long, flowing strokes, often chosen for relaxation. Sessions are 30, 45, 60 or 90 minutes.
Deep tissue massage in Winchester
Firmer pressure for tight, tense areas, such as the neck, shoulders and back. Sessions are 30, 60 or 90 minutes.
Chair massage
Done seated and fully clothed, focusing on the neck, shoulders and back. Sessions are 15 or 30 minutes.
What to expect
Every massage is different, and you can shape yours. It helps to know a few things before you come in:
- Your goals: tell Westley which areas bother you and whether you mostly want to relax or to focus on tight spots.
- Pressure: say how much pressure you like, and speak up at any time if you want more or less.
- Health notes: mention any recent injury, medical condition or pregnancy, and check with your doctor first if you are unsure.
- Choosing a type: if you are not sure which massage to pick, Swedish is a common choice for relaxation and deep tissue for tight, tense areas.
- Regular visits: some people book a massage now and then; others make it a regular habit.
Massage and chiropractic care
Chiropractic care focuses on how your spine and joints move; massage works on the muscles around them, so the two can complement each other. Hands-on massage with Westley is separate from the mechanical massage table we use as a passive therapy during chiropractic visits. If you are also a chiropractic patient, book each one separately.
